That’s the Spirit!, 2007, silent film, 17 minutes
Julian (50) and Maya (27) are a father and daughter. Both aren’t a part of the work market, and so they live of petty thefts and the odd shady transaction. Their days concentrate on “shop lifting” from clothes shops, dining in fancy restaurants without paying the bill, and the afternoon “schlafstunde” in one of Israel moguls’ home.

The films takes a surprising twist when they meet a mother and son, illegal aliens working as cleaners in the house of the top echelon. Naturally, love erupts.
This film was executed in the finest tradition of silent films from the likes of Keaton, Charlie Chase, Chaplin and Harold Lloyd. The films employs the conventions and techniques of these films to tell a story which calls for a social revolution.
