Born in 1982. Lives and works in Tel Aviv
Untitled, 2014, installation, mixed media
Made of transparent strings connected to the walls and floor of the museum’s inner courtyard, Lali Fruheling’s work forms a three-dimensional sketch in space. This drawing’s delicacy and fragility are due not only to the extreme thinness of the threads to a degree they occasionally vanish out of sight, but also to our point of view: visitors observe the installation through the museum windows and cannot approach or touch it. The work defines the empty space at the heart of the museum and pervades it with poetry that straddles the thin line between the real and ethereal.
