The titles of smithing series “Google Earth” and “Supernova” are borrowed from worlds of infinite expanses and awe-inspiring formidable cosmic events. The pieces, that will eventually become brooches, jewelry, communicate out of their miniature proportions with these faraway events. The chemical reactions controlled by the gold and silversmith, the encounter between the silver plates and different alloys and the boldness of using the soldering material in the creation of the image, charge the pieces with motion and dynamics. Whether we see the images as abstract or find suggestions of reality, it is evident that the end result is a remnant of an action and an event.
