Similarly to the iconography of gestures that has evolved throughout the history of art, Julian Rosefeldt has formulated the lexicon of gestures, expressions and movements used in every soap opera. According to the artist, the television does not copy reality, but rather operates in a world of reality that television itself has created for its own use.
