Hava Netze Bemachol (Let’s go out in a dance)
video, 2007, 1:20 min.
Hadas Reshef’s work is composed of video footage and stills photographs taken in the course of the 2007 student demonstrations in the Rose Garden located opposite the Knesset in Jerusalem. Reshef presents the student protest from a critical and humorous viewpoint. From this perspective, the demonstrations are described as a “huge dance party.” Underscoring the excitement of the crowd, her narrative transforms the body gestures expressive of protest and rebellion into ones that communicate “friendship and joy.”
