Born in 1987. Lives and works in Tel Aviv
Autumn Clouds, 2012, video, 13:00 min.
At first glance, Autumn Clouds seems to document the story of a group of postwar Russian orphans. The viewer is exposed to the orphans’ lives: initiation and purification rites, confessions and singing in the woods. As the film progresses it becomes clear that this is not a narrative plot with a beginning, middle and end, but rather a collection of selected moments from the orphans’ lives. The scenes are used to create both an atmosphere and feelings related to the work’s symbolic level. It deals with orphanhood, abandonment and coping with the difficulties of adolescence and loss, but remains unsolved.
