The Mathaf Bil’Arabi (Museum in Arabic)
Meetings in Arabic at the Herzliya Museum of Contemporary Art
Muza – the educational wing of the Herzliya Museum of Contemporary Art, is expanding its activities and offering a new meeting program for students from Arab schools. The program is taught in Arabic by Muza instructors and integrates guided exhibition experiences with hands-on creative workshops.
Various artists bring a variety of voices and activities related to daily life, in the past and future, as well as worlds of imagination and fantasy. A group dialogue meeting in the museum facilitates an open conversation not necessarily based on prior knowledge in a specific field and always relevant in the contexts created. A conversation about and through art encourages critical thinking and practices personal and interpersonal skills in a positive and safe environment. This approach which combines the dialogue and activities in the exhibitions with hands-on experience in the workshop, appeals to the different senses and to the various ways in which we learn and develop, thus enabling self-expression and new ways of processing ideas and thoughts as individuals and as part of a group.
The Mathaf Bil’Arabi (Museum in Arabic) program includes sessions tailored to different groups and ages − from elementary schools to high schools. Each session consists of activities in the museum’s exhibitions combined with a unique art workshop inspired by the exhibitions.
The program began operating in the 2022−2023 school year with the support of the Goldreich Foundation.
