Three robots programmed to continually comb human hair. Hair is a reoccurring motif in paintings from the “Death and the Maiden” genre, and is one of the embodiments of vanity. Therefore, fussing with the hair often amounts to fussing over nothing, to aimlessness.
The work is a parable of control and the passage of time. Man fancies himself as the master of nature, but he is in fact hopeless with regard to the organic matter that adorns his own head – the hair.
