Instructions for one unit: 1. Saw the square wooden pole into four equal length units (34.5 cm each). 2. Saw the MDF board into a 30.5×44 cm size, screw the wooden poles to its four corners perpendicularly to create a “stool.” 3. Coat the bare surface of the board with oil paint. 4. Cover the paint with newsprint the size of the painted board. 5. Coat the paper with a layer of paint. 6. Place a new sheet of newsprint on the painted paper… 7. Repeat the coating and covering acts several times until several layers of paint and paper cumulate. Instructions for arrangements’ documentation: 8. When you have finished preparing the first unit, repeat steps 1-7 to create nine more. 9. Place the ten units on the floor in a row along the wall in the vacant room. 10. Document the arrangement. 11. Disassemble the row, and rearrange the units, following a predetermined pattern (e.g.: placing each second “stool” in the row on top of the preceding “stool” with the stools in each pair facing one another.) 12. Document the new arrangement. 13-33. Arrange the units in twenty more different configurations. Document each finished arrangement on camera.
