The three video pieces isolate the act of flying of an animate, vegetal and inanimate object against the backdrop of various lighting conditions and states of aggregation of the material: oxygen and water. But flight does not take place by itself. It is generated and operated by the artist, always functioning as an extension of her arm or camera, like the banana peel sent upwards and the dead bird set in motion in a submarine setting. The artist creates an illusion of flight, humorously exposing the manipulation underlying its production. The flying gesture seems to symbolize an unobtainable aspiration, a modest yearning for the sublime.
