David Altmejd’s sculptures combine seemingly random objects – including ones associated with the world of fairytales, towers made of mirrors, plastic flowers, faux jewelry, geometric elements such as cubes and boxes, and body parts made of various materials – in order to create sculptural systems defined by what he calls “symbolic potential and open-ended narratives.”
